Meet Coal!

Coal is a Black Intact (not Neutered) Male Labrador! His parents are Satin and Gibby from Ridge View Labradors, one of RCTA’s Partnered Dog Connection Program breeders. He was born 10/27/2024!

Coal is a sweet and kind-spirited boy! He is on the softer side when it comes to personality and manners.

Basic Commands:

Name: Reliable response to their name

• Ready?: Focus and anticipation for the next command

• Mark: Intense focus on an object for retrieving

• Free: Return to the handler for a reward

• Yes/Good: Positive reinforcement for correct and desired behavior

• No: Gentle guidance towards the desired behavior

• Sit: Classic sit position.

• Here: Come when called

• Down: Lie down on command.

• Leave it: Ignore tempting objects, promoting impulse control.

• Kennel: Enter their crate calmly.

• Climb: Confidently climb onto a platform.

• Inside/Outside: Understand and respond to these directional cues.

• Go Potty

• Load Up: Willingly enter a vehicle.

• Loose Leash: Enjoy walks without pulling.

• Off: Refrain from jumping or getting on furniture.

• Leash on/off and gear on/off: communication of putting training gear on 

Socialization & Confidence Building

Coal has been introduced to a variety of sights, sounds, and experiences to foster confidence and be well-adjusted:

• Weather Sounds: Thunderstorms and Fireworks

• People: Men, Women, Children and People with different appearances (hats, sunglasses, etc)

• Everyday Objects: Vaccums, Mops, Home Sounds

• Loud Noises: Develop a healthy response to unexpected sounds
